Hospitalizations tied to COVID-19 rising in Colorado

Hospitalizations tied to COVID-19 in Colorado are approaching levels the state hasn’t seen since early March. Across the state, hospitalizations rose 20% from 270 to 323 this week. About 90% of the state’s ICU beds and 91% of regular hospital beds were full – though many of those hospitalizations aren’t tied to COVID. COVID-19 deaths are also rising with 46 reported in the first week of June. The state saw a 14% increase in overall cases this week to 16,566. The percent of positive tests is nearly 12% though it’s likely much higher with home test results not reported.
