Fire in Weld County kills 12 dogs

A fire in an unincorporated section of Weld County this week killed several dogs. The fire broke out near 175th Avenue and County Road 7, east of Erie Tuesday. Breeder Gustin Golden Retrievers posted on Facebook that the fire destroyed one of their barns and killed seven adult dogs and five puppies. Three Golden Retrievers and five puppies were rescued. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
