CSP: Road gave way causing fatal rollover into Gross Reservoir

The Colorado State Patrol releases more details regarding a fatal dump truck rollover in Gross Reservoir in Boulder County over the weekend. Troopers said they believe the driver, a 28-year-old man from Arvada, drove too close to the edge of the road causing the ground beneath him to give in under the heavy weight of the vehicle. The truck was hauling 7,000 lbs. of rock and stone at the time it rolled down an embankment and into waters in Gross Reservoir. The truck and the driver’s body were found by divers in waters 43 feet deep Saturday. The driver hasn’t been identified yet. Though the reservoir was under construction, it’s unclear why he was driving the work truck close to midnight.
