Bat in Longmont tests positive for rabies

A bat in in northern Colorado has tested positive for rabies. Boulder County Public Health said the rabid bat was found in Thompson Park in Longmont Saturday after residents complained their pet may have come into contact with the animal. They warn with temperatures warming up, more people and pets are outdoors while bats are highly active. Pet owners are urged to ensure their pet is up to date on vaccinations.
