Wolves attack cattle in Walden again, rancher says

Wolves likely strike again. Walden rancher Don Gittleson says he lost two calves in recent days – marking his fifth loss since December. Wolves are believed to have killed one of the calves even with a night watch keeping an eye on the herd. The second calf is believed to have died from lung damage suffered by being chased by wolves. The Coloradoan reports the state Department of Parks and Wildlife acknowledged the deaths of the calves but say there’s no evidence to confirm wolves are to blame. The pack contains eight grown wolves, including a female who’s believed to have given birth to her second litter recently. Read more at https://www.coloradoan.com/.
