Poudre School District is closing its three mountain schools May 5 because of forecasts calling for snow accumulations of 8 or more inches in the Red Feather Lakes and up to 2 feet in other mountain areas of Northern Colorado, spokesperson John Cope told the Coloradoan. Livermore, Red Feather Lakes and Stove Prairie elementary schools will all be closed for the day, Cope said in a text message the evening of May 4. Students’ families and staff were notified of the closures by email earlier in the day, Cope said.
