Man Shot In Police Involved Incident Gets Three Year Sentence

A man who was shot by a Weld County Sheriff’s deputy in 2024 after firing several rounds into the air at a party near Greeley was sentenced to three years in prison. According to the Greeley Tribune, 20 year  old Joe Sanchez was sentenced to three years at the Colorado Department of Corrections by Weld County District Court Judge Vincente Vigil on April 30.    He pleaded guilty to three counts of menacing — real or simulated weapon, and was sentenced to three years for each count. The sentences will run concurrently. He was also sentenced to pay more than $200 toward the victim compensation fund and other court costs.
