Loveland Will Cover Legal Expenses Related To Illegal Meeting Probe

Loveland City Council agreed to consider a future budget appropriation to cover the legal expenses incurred by Dana Foley, Pat McFall, Steve Olson and Andrea Samson during a special counsel investigation to determine whether they held an illegal meeting prior to the Centerra South urban renewal vote last year. The Loveland Reporter Herald reports City Council authorized the investigation in March, after allegations arose in a district court lawsuit that the four current and three former members held a “daisy-chain” of one-on-one meetings to co-sign letters related to Centerra South, constituting an unnoticed discussion of public business.   The suit was later dismissed on procedural grounds.
