Hit & Run Leaves 2 Dead

A tragic hit and run accident occurred on Friday claiming the lives of two people. The accident took place on US Highway 287 north of Longmont. The accident happened around 5pm and involved four vehicles. Witnesses to the accident told police that two vehicles, a dark red pick-up and a Chevrolet Camaro, engaged in road-rage leading up to the crash. Both passengers in the Camaro died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the red pick-up truck fled the scene. Police are asking for help identifying this hit and run driver. The vehicle is described as a Dodge Ram 1500 and the vehicle will have damage on the right side. The driver is described as an overweight, white male, with a white beard. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the state police.
