Man Sentenced In 2024 Shooting At Fort Collins Party

A man who shot another man at a north Fort Collins party in October 2024 has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison. The Coloradoan reports the shooting was reported shortly before 3 a.m. Oct. 19, 2024. Investigators say a fight broke out at a party in the 400 block of Butch Cassidy Drive and one man, now-20-year-old Joe Sanchez, fired several shots at two men, striking one of them.  Sanchez was sentenced March 31 to 26 years in prison after previously pleading guilty to attempted first-degree murder, a Class 2 felony, and attempted first-degree assault, a Class 4 felony.
