Police: Weld County man arrested for setting own home on fire

A man was arrested for allegedly setting his own home on fire. Firefighters were called to the 21000 block of Colorado 14 in an unincorporated section of Weld County. Witnesses said Marshall Johnson had asked them for a lighter and took off running. While firefighters fought the flames, deputies found Johnson hiding in a camper on the property. Johnson had active felony warrants for his arrest on charges of arson, burglary, harassment and felony menacing. Records, obtained by the Greeley Tribune, said Johnson is known to Ault-Pierce firefighters for previously threatening to burn down his home; they also recently responded to a suspicious fire at his property and found fuel cans and propane tanks inside the home.  Read more at https://www.greeleytribune.com/.
