Historic outbuildings destroyed, damaged in Arrowhead Fire

An historic outbuilding was destroyed and two others were damaged in the Arrowhead Fire. The 15-acre fire lit up an area near the historic Arrowhead lodge in Poudre Canyon on March 19. The U.S. Forest Service says the privies along the lodge and the lodge itself, which are on the National Register of Historic Places, were not damaged. The lodge opened in 1935 as a summer mountain resort. The cause of the fire, which was fully contained on March 21, remains under investigation.
