Woman struck, killed on I-25 after rideshare leaves her on highway

A woman was struck and killed on I-25 on New Year’s Day after a rideshare driver left her on the side of the highway, Thornton Police said. Police believe the woman was forced out of the vehicle after she fell ill in the vehicle. The woman, who’s in her early 20s, was struck by two passing vehicles just after midnight Sunday on the northbound lanes of I-25 in Thornton between 144th Avenue and Colorado 7. Adam Wooley, 33, the driver of the truck who police said side-swiped her first and fled the scene, was charged with hit-and-run causing death. The second driver, who struck the victim, stayed at the scene and has not been charged.
