Colorado’s death toll from avalanches is rising. Two snowmobilers from northern Colorado were killed in an avalanche over the weekend near Winter Park. It happened Saturday around 2 p.m. on Corona Pass near Mount Epworth and Pumphouse Lake. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office said the snowmobilers, both men in their fifties, were buried. One was found and could not be resuscitated. The second man’s body wasn’t found until the next morning. Four people, including the son of the president of the University of Northern Colorado, have died in avalanches in Colorado, so far, this season.
