A man on parole is heading back to prison for two decades for a carjacking in Weld County last year. Thirty-one-year-old David Mercado was sentenced to 20 years in prison for forcing his way into a man’s vehicle and forcing him to drive to a different location. During the kidnapping in May of 2021, Mercardo stole the victim’s cellphone, assaulted him, and claimed to have a gun, according to Denver News 9.
