Man killed in Breckenridge avalanche was son of UNC president

A man, who was killed in an avalanche in Breckenridge, has been identified as the son of the president of the University of Northern Colorado. Nick Feinstein, 22, died Saturday while backcountry skiing in an area called The Numbers with his father Andy Feinstein Saturday. Both father and son were buried in the slide, but Andy Feinstine managed to free himself, but could not locate his son. He had to ski out of the area to find cell service to call 911. The family said Nick, a graduate of Greeley Central High School and a senior at Penn State, had been an avid skier since he was 5 years old. A celebration of his life will be held on UNC’s campus Saturday.
