Larimer Sheriff calls red flag filing against CSU officer “a fraud”

Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith says he’ll not serve a “red flag petition” against a Colorado State University policeman if a judge signs off on the petition at a hearing Thursday. In a Wednesday morning Facebook post, Smith referred to Susan Holmes’ filing of the petition last week in Larimer County District Court, trying to have guns taken away from Phillip Morris, who fatally shot her son during a 2017 incident where the younger man was brandishing a knife. Morris was cleared of wrongdoing by the D.A’s office after an investigation.
