Work to repair two of the oldest bridges in Fort Collins will close Laporte Avenue for the next five months. Laporte between Taft Hill Road and Grandview Avenue won’t reopen until May. The stretch of roadway over the New Mercer Canal is completely closed to all vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic. Both bridges are past their useful lifespan and not wide enough to accommodate additional travel lanes, according to the Coloradoan.
