Driver arrested in Thornton hit-and-run claims he didn’t know he hit someone

The driver arrested in a fatal hit-and-run on I-25 in Thornton on New Year’s Day claims he had no idea he had struck a person until he saw reports on the news, realized his own vehicle was damaged, and turned himself in, according to a report on Denver News 9. Twenty-two-year-old Jessica Puckett of Texas, who was left by her rideshare driver on the side of the highway after falling ill in the vehicle, was hit by two vehicles and killed. Police said Adam Wooley first side-swiped her and fled the scene. A second driver then struck Puckett as she was lying in the road and is cooperating with authorities.
