Possible Denver Olympic bid may go to voters

Denver could be in the running to host the next Winter Olympic Games in the U.S.

Governor John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock are accepting a recommendation from the Winter Games Exploratory Committee to pursue a bid.

The committee was tasked by state leaders to determine how feasible it would be to allow Denver and Colorado to host the Olympic Games, and whether taxpayers would need to be asked to foot the bill.

The U.S. Olympic Committee has publicly stated it is focused on pursuing a bid for the Winter Games in 2030 or beyond.
