Former Ram All-American Headed to Olympics

Gian Clavell headed to Paris with Puerto Rico

 

FORT COLLINS – Former CSU men’s basketball All-American Gian Clavell will represent Puerto Rico in the 2024 Olympic Games.

 

Clavell helped the Puerto Rican national team beat Lithuania 76-68 in the qualifying tournament championship game on Sunday to punch their ticket to Paris.

 

He contributed off the bench as Puerto Rico earned its first trip to the Olympics in men’s basketball since 2004.

 

They will compete in group play against the United States, Serbia and South Sudan starting July 27.

 

Clavell played for Colorado State from 2014-2017, earning Mountain West Player of the Year honors and named honorable mention All-American in 2017.
