NIKOLA JOKIĆ VOTED AS STARTER FOR 2025 NBA ALL-STAR GAME
Jokić earned most votes among all Western Conference Players
DENVER, Jan. 23, 2025 – The NBA announced today that Nuggets center Nikola Jokić has been selected as a starter for the 2025 NBA All-Star game on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Chase Center in San Francisco.
This is Jokić’s seventh straight All-Star selection and fifth consecutive year being named an All-Star starter. He is the only Nuggets player to be selected to start in five All-Star games and is just the second Nuggets player ever to be selected to seven-or-more All-Star games (English – 8).
Jokić, 29, is averaging career-highs in points (30.1), rebounds (12.2), assists (9.9) and steals (1.9), while shooting .563 from the field and a career-high .475 from three in 36.4 minutes per game. The Joker leads the NBA with 19 triple-doubles, continuing his streak as the only player in NBA history to have eight consecutive seasons with 10+ triple-doubles. He is on a current run of four straight triple doubles, all of which have occurred before the fourth quarter.
Among NBA ranks per game, Jokić is second in assists, third in rebounds, third in points, third in 3FG%, and fourth in steals. If those averages hold, he would be the first player in NBA history to finish a season ranked in the top 10 in each category.
The three-time MVP passed Larry Bird this season as the fastest player in NBA history to reach 15,000 points, 7,500 rebounds and 5,000 assists in a career, doing so in 90 less games (Jokic -709 games, Bird – 799 games). Jokić has earned two Western Conference Player of the Week awards (11/11 & 1/6) and has posted six games scoring 40+ points, the most of his career. He also has nine games with 25+ points and 15+ rebounds, tying Karl- Anthony Towns for the most games in the NBA.
The Sombor, Serbia native was selected with the 41st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He has appeared in 712 career games (671 starts) over 10 seasons with Denver, averaging 21.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.30 steals per game. He currently sits third all-time in NBA history with 149 triple doubles.
