Teen Suspect In Police Shooting Incident Out of Hospital, In Jail

An 18-year-old suspect shot twice by a Weld County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Sunday faces five charges following his release from the hospital.   Joe Sanchez has been released from the hospital and booked into the Weld County Jail after firing his gun with deputies on the scene early Sunday.  The Greeley Tribune reports Weld County deputies responded to a disturbance at 12:16 a.m. that morning in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue Lane in unincorporated Weld County. Deputies found an armed suspect, later identified as Sanchez, who fired his gun at the scene. A deputy responded by firing his service weapon at Sanchez.  Sanchez, struck twice by the shots, received aid from deputies until medical personnel arrived. Once they arrived, personnel immediately took Sanchez to a hospital for his injuries.
