Loveland City Council will consider adopting a city budget that could be superseded by voters in November. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, at Tuesday’s meeting, members will hold the first reading of the reduced-services version of the 2025 budget, despite a looming ballot measure that could restore funding if passed. The vote comes after several months of “hard conversations” with the council and the public about the impact of last year’s successful ballot question eliminating the city’s 3% sales tax on food for home consumption. As a result, Loveland is on pace to lose at least $10 million in revenue per year due to the change.
