Fort Collins Man Charged In Hostage Situation To Face Trial Early Next Year

A man accused to taking two people hostage during a 2022 incident at a home on Courtenay Circle in south Fort Collins faces an eight day trial early next year.  The Loveland Reporter Herald reports 45 year old Rick Murphy appeared in court Thursday morning, more than seven months after he pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity during a hearing in December of last year. He remains in custody at the Larimer County Justice Center in Fort Collins.
