New oil and gas regulations, as strict or stricter than the state of Colorado’s, may be coming to Loveland. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, on Monday, the city’s Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the new rules. The city’s Development Services division has been revising the oil and gas rules since last November, after the City Council imposed a moratorium on development and asked the staff to revise the city’s regulations to incorporate new standards from Larimer County and the state’s oil and gas regulatory agency, the Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC).
