There is a growing chorus of voices on the City Council and among the public asking for a formal update of Loveland’s home rule charter. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, at a study session on Tuesday, City Attorney Vince Junglas will lead members through the ins and outs of the process, which requires at least two votes of Loveland residents. The city’s home rule charter was adopted by Loveland voters in May 1996, after a months-long process to create it by a 15-member commission of residents. Since then, it has been amended 12 times, through ballot measures targeting single provisions.
