Two Fort Collins Fires Attributed To Spontaneous Combustion

Two unrelated fires in Forth Collins this week both appear to be the result of  spontaneous combustion.  The Coloradoan reports the first fire started about about 1:30 a.m. outside a business in the 1600 block of N. College Avenue in north Fort Collins. The fire started in juniper bushes and grew so hot that the heat from the fire broke some of the building’s windows.  The second fire was a vegetation fire reported about 12:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Owens Avenue in southeast Fort Collins. This fire started in a compost pile and spread to a nearby fence.
