Woman Charged After Allegedly Stealing Police Rifle, Pointing It At Officers

A woman is facing three charges of attempted first-degree murder of an officer after police said she stole a rifle from a Weld County Sheriff deputy’s cruiser while in custody, racked it to prepare it to fire, then pointed it at two deputies and a captain. According to the Greeley Tribune, 33 year old Katya Myers  was arrested on April 4 after she rummaged through multiple yards in a Weld County neighborhood  — attempting to set one man’s shed on fire — before stealing the rifle in the patrol vehicle, according to an affidavit for her arrest. She faces 14 felonies — and 32 total charges — from the string of events earlier this month.
