A Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was shot after a confrontation with a suspect in Edora Park on Monday is recovering at an area hospital after successful surgery. The Coloradoan reports the injured deputy has been with the sheriff’s office 27 years, while another deputy who was involved in the March 10 shooting is a 15-year veteran of sheriff’s office. Both deputies’ names will be released at the conclusion of the Critical Incident Response Team investigation. The pair attempted to stop an off-road motorcycle for traffic violations in Fort Collins when the adult male rider didn’t stop and drove onto the bike path in Edora Park.
