David Thompson pleaded guilty to felony animal cruelty in a random assault in 2022 that left one dog dead and injured another; he will be sentenced in May. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, Thompson, 47, appeared at the Larimer County Justice Center in Fort Collins on Tuesday morning where he pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. On Aug. 29, 2022, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man had attacked two dogs in a yard in Wellington, according to a previous release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office; the attack killed one of the dogs and seriously injured the other.
