Developers behind the controversial Centerra South project are now seeking a zoning change that will allow thousands of additional housing units on the 150-acre property. At Tuesday’s meeting, Loveland City Council will consider the request, as well as an extension of the developer’s vested rights on the property. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, a report from city planning staff in the agenda packet, states the boost in housing density in east Loveland will have several downstream effects, including a large projected increase in the number of daily vehicle trips on U.S. 34, pushing it beyond its current capacity.
