Annexation Considered For Farm To Become Grocery Store Site

A Loveland-area farm dating back to the turn of the 20th century could be the future home of a long-awaited grocery store in east Loveland. On Tuesday, Loveland City Council will consider an annexation and zoning application for the 122-acre Schmer Farm, the first step in a plan to build a King Soopers on a portion of the historic property.  The Loveland Reporter Herald reports  the property has been a working farm since just after the turn of the 20th century.  Developer Evergreen Devco Inc., is proposing a 30-acre commercial district on the north part of the parcel.
