If you call 9-1-1 from your cell phone now, Weld County dispatchers will be able to better pinpoint where you’re calling from. The Public Safety Communications department is using a new device called RapidLite that can track where your phone is, if location services are turned on. It’s helpful when the call drops or if the caller can’t tell dispatchers their location. Last year, 81% of all 9-1-1 calls came from mobile devices.
