Veterans, Seniors To Benefit From Property Tax Exemption Measure

A voter-approved measure passed during the November election will benefit veterans and senior homeowners in Colorado, according to the Larimer County Assessor’s Office, by lowering property bills for qualifying households.  The Loveland Reporter Herald reports the updated rules will allow residents who moved or relocated within their county or from one Colorado county to another Colorado county between Jan. 1, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2024, to receive or be reinstated in the Senior Homestead Exemption Program, the amount of which depends on state budget funding.   Applications for the senior exemption will be accepted by Larimer County between Jan. 2 and March 15.
