The state is releasing a plan for the future of outdoor recreation and conservation statewide. The five-year Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan released yesterday was originally created to help the state gain access to money from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. The fund has not been reauthorized by Congress, but state leaders say the plan still provides a blueprint for expanding outdoor recreation while preserving natural resources. The plan encourages Coloradans to do more to take care of those resources as the state’s population continues to grow.
