No criminal charges for teacher accused of taping student to a chair

An Evans middle school teacher will not face criminal charges after a teacher taped a student to a chair. The Weld County District Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges. The Prairie Heights Middle School teacher has been on paid administrative leave since cell phone video of the incident was brought to the attention of administrators. The boy told Evans police the teacher used masking tape to tape him to his chair to teach him not to get up during class, and then invited other kids to take pictures of him. Its not clear what that teacher’s fate will ultimately be. The district plans to consult with their attorneys before making a decision.
