Flu cases spike in Colorado

The number of flu cases in Colorado is spiking right now. The state health department says about 572 people have been hospitalized this flu season, about half are children and seniors over 65. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Colorado and Georgia are the two states with the highest flu risk right now. They’re also recommending that everyone get a flu shot, if you haven’t yet. It takes about two weeks to become fully effective, and can lessen the symptoms of the flu if you do catch it.
