WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that they have signed defenseman Collin Bowman for the 2017-18 season. The Littleton, Colorado native returns for his fourth season with the Eagles, after spending the 2016-17 season with the Vienna Capitals of the EBEL. In 54 games with the Capitals, Bowman posted six goals and 20 assists and capped off the year with a league championship. The 26 year-old has appeared in 165 games with Colorado, generating 42 goals, 68 assists and playing at a combined +40. His play with the Eagles also earned him a spot on the 2014-15 ECHL All-Star Team.
“I’m very excited to be back at home in Colorado,” said Bowman. “Being back again in this area, it’s clearly something I can’t stay away from, so I’m excited to get things started here shortly and to get back on the ice in front of the fans in my hometown.”
Bowman has appeared in 33 AHL games with the Rochester Americans and Iowa Wild. During that time, he would collect nine points and 29 penalty minutes. He has also seen action in 66 additional ECHL contests with stops in San Francisco and Bakersfield during the 2013-14 season. His 110 points with Colorado are also good for fifth-most among Eagles defensemen in team history.
“Collin has already proven in his time here that he is an elite defenseman at this level,” said Eagles general manager Chis Stewart. “He is extremely reliable in his own zone, while also providing a consistent scoring threat on the offensive side of the game.”
