Week One: Ernesto Rios, Platte Valley
Ernesto Rios a senior at Platte Valley is our Loveland Ford Player of the Week for the first week of the HS football season.
Ernesto paced the Broncos on the ground with a strong effort that included a big time touchdown to push the Broncos to a 16-0 win over Berthoud.
Week Two: Scott Grable, Eaton
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Scott Grable from Eaton High School. The Reds sophomore quarterback completed 11 of 15 passes for 138 yards and 2 Touchdowns and added a TD on the ground, leading the Eaton Reds to a 37-25 opening night win against the Sterling Tigers.
Week Three: Chayden Cox, University
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Chayden Cox from University High School. The Junior QB completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 86 yards and rushed for a team leading 51 yards in the Bulldogs’ 30-8 victory over Weld Central.
Week Four: Trevon Wehrman, Platte Valley
Platte Valley senior Trevon Wehrman went for 160 yards through the air with 2 TD’s and rushed for 80 yards as well in the Broncos 26-7 win over rival Eaton.
Week Four: Logan Stewart, Highland
The senior running back ran for 134 yards and four 1st half touchdowns in the Huskies 49-7 victory over Valley.
Week Five: Kyle Helbig, Holy Family
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Kyle Helbig from Holy Family High School. The 6-4 senior was terrific on both sides of the ball with a pick six for a score and major contributions on offense as well.
The Tigers defeated Roosevelt 43-39 in a wild contest in Johnstown.
Week Six: Derek West, Greeley West
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Derek West from Greeley West High School . The senior running back rushed for three first half touchdowns and helped the Spartan defense shutout crosstown rival Greeley Central 49-0 on Friday Night at District 6 Stadium.
Week Seven: Ty Garnhart, Eaton
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Ty Garnhart from Eaton High School. The Reds senior rushed for 164 yards and two TD’s and led the way on defense as Eaton knocked off The Academy 34-18 at home in a Patriot League West battle .
Week Eight: Tanner Applebee, Resurrection Christian
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Tanner Applebee from Resurrection Christian High School. The sophomore linebacker led a great defensive performance by the Cougars as they held the Eaton Reds to just 15 yards rushing in a 26-7 road win. Tanner led the team with three tackles for loss including a sack and also had an interception to add to a great night !
Week Nine: Joey Piacenza, Greeley West
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Joey Piacenza. The Spartan senior hauled in a terrific catch to set up an early Greeley West TD and led the defense in shutting down the powerful Broomfield offense as Greeley West beat the Eagles 17-14 in OT. Piacenza sealed the victory with a late interception for the 5th ranked Spartans.
Week Ten: Garrett Beckman, Greeley West
Greeley West Senior Garrett Beckman led the Spartans on both the offensive and defensive lines as West knocked off Windsor 28-7 to wrap up the 4A Northern Conference Championship.
Week Ten: Brendan Bunting, Platte Valley
Platte Valley Senior Brendan Bunting scored two touchdowns and provided great defensive play as the Broncos rolled Brush 54-27 for the Patriot League East title.
Week One: Koby Anderson & Tate Bessire, Highland
The Loveland Ford Player of the week goes to two Highland Huskies who were dominating in Highland’s 77-57 win over Eaton.
Senior Koby Anderson recorded a double-double with a game high 30 points and 13 boards while junior Tate Bessire blistered the stat sheet with his own double-double scoring 22 points and handing out 10 assists and adding 6 steals
Week Two: Jackson Haylsip , Greeley Central
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Jackson Haylsip from Greeley Central. The Sr. Guard poured in 32 points and grabbed 7 boards to lead the Cats to a 65-61 overtime victory against crosstown rival Greeley West. The win gave the Cats the tournament championship as they went 3-0 to capture the Roundball Invitational. Hayslip averaged 28 points and 7 boards per contest in the 3 day event.
Week Four: Andre Sepeda, Greeley West
The Loveland Ford Player of the Week is Andre Sepeda from Greeley West High School. The Spartan senior dropped in a game high 23 points in leading Greeley West to a 62-50 home conference win over Monarch.
Week Three: Nick Wall, Roosevelt
Prior to Christmas Break Nick Wall from Roosevelt High School was named Loveland Ford Player of the Week. Nick had a game high 21 points and grabbed eight boards in the Rider’s 64-59 win over Loveland.
