Weld County unveils new text-to-911 program

In a dangerous situation and can’t call 911? Now you can text dispatchers for help. Weld County officials unveiled their new text-to-911 service on Monday. Weld County Chairwoman Julie Cozad called the program a “great asset” for the county. Officials say its better if you can call 911, but if you can’t, make sure you provide your location and don’t send video. The program only understands words right now.
