Fort Collins is considering increasing the space between active oil and gas wells and residential homes. Two proposed land use code changes would increase the setbacks to 500 feet for new developments near active wells and lower the buffer to 100 feet for new developments near wells that have been capped and abandoned. The city is asking people to weigh in on the plans before Jan. 11.
