Asbestos insulation discovered in Boulder courthouse

Renovations on the east wing of Boulder County’s courthouse were stopped this week after construction crews found insulation around pipes that they believe may contain asbestos. A crew will remove the insulation this weekend. There were no evacuations since the insulation wasn’t disturbed and the asbestos never went airborne. The restroom thats under renovation is original to the courthouse. It’s being renovated to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.
