Marijuana continues to be huge business in Colorado. The state department of revenue says sales reached $1 billion dollars in August this year, the fastest time in the four years that recreational marijuana has been legal. The state is on track to beat last year’s record of more than $1.5 billion in sales. And weed is helping out state revenues, already generating about $200 million in sale tax collections. Denver, Boulder, El Paso and Pueblo counties account for 80% of all the plants in the state through the first six months of the year.
