Downtown Greeley is coming back to life. After years of boarded of businesses following the great recession, officials who worked on resurrecting downtown were honored with an Outstanding Frontline Tourism Worker Award from the Colorado Tourism Office, beating out all other entries from Denver to the Wyoming border. Colorado’s newly-passed Common Consumption law allowed downtown Greeley to implement Friday fests,officials said, bringing business to bars and restaurants allowing downtown festivities to flourish. Officials said Greeley has been recognized as a tourist destination. The first Friday Fest of the season is May 31.
