Big Sky sets 2020-2023 Football Schedules

Shameless plug: UNC Coaches Show this Tuesday night includes interviews with UNC baseball coach Carl Iwasaki, Eaton native and outfielder Matt Burkart and outfielder Jake Gitter plus men’s golf coach Roger Prenzlow after his team won the Big Sky title for the second consecutive year and readies for NCAA Regionals. The show airs at 6:05pm tonight.

From the Tuesday morning e-mail inbox, the Big Sky has set the conference schedules for the next four seasons. Among the highlights:

  • Eight game conference schedules continue for the time being.
  • Northern Colorado’s “rivals” shift with the move of North Dakota away from the Big Sky. The Bears are still paired with Northern Arizona but will add Montana State in UND’s place.
  • In an interesting twist, the Bears will play their two “rivals” in the first two weeks of the 2020 conference season.
  • UNC will open conference play at home in 2020 and 2021 before facing road openers in 2022 and 2023.
  • UNC makes its first trip to Moscow, Idaho to end the 2021 regular season. The Bears play Idaho this season at Nottingham Field in the first meeting

Here are the upcoming schedules, including future non-conference games that are currently on the docket. Today’s announcement by the Big Sky fills out the 2020 slate, though date changes can still occur.
