Senate passes oil and gas industry reform bill

The blizzard didn’t stop state government. While the Governor’s office and the House of Representatives declared a snow day, the state Senate was in session, passing a bill that would prioritize health and safety over development for the oil and gas industry. Senators from Greeley and Fort Collins voted against it. Sen. John Cooke says the bill could devastate the state’s economy. Both the Colorado Petroleum Council and COGA issued a joint statement saying the bill will cripple the industry. The legislation now moves to the House.
