Dozens of children hospitalized with rare disease

More than 40 children across Colorado have been hospitalized with a rare disease. And state health officials say almost all of the kids have fully recovered. The outbreak of enterovirus A71 infections is likely the largest cluster in the US ever. This particular strain is rare here. Its more common in southeast Asia. The disease causes unusual jerking motions, loss of balance and fever. Most of the kids were under the age of 3, only one was over the age of 5. State health officials say the outbreak started in May but many of the cases of A71 started coming in the summer and early fall.
