Hearing delayed on open records bill
A hearing has been delayed on a bill to modernize the state’s Open Records Act. The comittee chair, Sen. Ray Scott of Grand Junction, didn’t announce a new date on Monday. The bill, sponsored by Sen. John Kefalas from Fort Collins, would require government agencies to release public records in either their original or searchable formats, like Excel spreadsheets. The same bill was killed last year in Scott’s committee.
