Runner flock to Horsetooth Half despite the snow

The snow didn’t slow runners at the Horsetooth Half Marathon on Sunday. Nearly 1,400 runners showed up, despite the cold conditions. Most of the area received 4 to 6 inches of snow, which forced organizers to find more parking spaces at the Holiday Twin Drive-In, instead of the normal spot at Hughes Stadium. The runners however didn’t seem to mind the weather, with smiles and high fives at the finish line party at New Belgium. This year’s winner is 43-year-old Brianne Nelson, who took home the $1,000 prize. She’s also the first woman ever to win the overall race.
